Agape. Divine love. A Greek word used for God’s love of mankind. Imagine a love so strong, it needs it’s own word to even try to define it.
God’s love for us is beyond our comprehension. Beyond our ability to feel. But it should bring comfort to us knowing that His love for us is too big for us to know. Would we really want a God who can love us the way we love each other? No. Our love is nothing compared to His.
The Bible has so much scripture on loving one another and God’s undying, sacrificial, pure love for us.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
1 Thessalonians 4:9
Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.
1 Peter 1:22
Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.
1 Peter 5:14
Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.
I could keep going… But for the sake of a wall of text (might be too late?) I will stop there. The point of all of this is. Love each other. Forgive each other. Because God forgives you and loves you, show the same to your family, friends, and even your enemies. We don’t have a long time on this world, so show the world the love that God gives us day and night.
